Symptoms On Heavy & Specialty Systems
Heavy lift-and-slide and European systems fail differently than a standard door. Here’s what these symptoms usually mean.
This usually points to worn lift mechanisms or rollers rated for the panel weight. We inspect the lift hardware specifically, not just the track, since lift-and-slide systems rely on that mechanism to raise the panel off the sill before it slides.
Treat this as urgent — a heavy panel off its track is a safety risk. We assess whether the roller, track, or frame is the root cause before resetting and repairing the system.
European multi-point locking hardware operates differently from domestic hardware and can go out of adjustment over time. We service the specific mechanism rather than treating it like a standard window lock.
We service existing Albertini systems regardless of who originally installed them. Repair options depend on inspection and part availability, since some Albertini hardware requires manufacturer-specific parts.
On wide multi-panel systems, dragging can come from any one panel’s rollers, uneven track wear along the run, or the frame settling slightly. We check the full track length, not just the problem panel.
